Marty/Daddy's Birthday Celebrations

Yesterday, we celebrated Marty's birthday. He got to choose to do whatever he wanted to do celebrate. So we went up to the 60th floor of the JP Morgan Chase Tower to the observation deck. The view was spectacular. I(Hannah) did not so much enjoy the height nor the 41 second straight trip up, so I looked from afar. It was fun to see every section of the city and find our part of town.
For the uninitiated, Houston is the 4th largest city in the US, with about 6 million in the metro region. We have 3 areas of town with sky-scrapers, all 3 of which are larger than the downtowns of our hometowns of Wichita, Ks and Columbus, Oh. The pictures here are the actual downtown, whose 10 highest buildings are second only to the 10 highest in Chicago, for US height.

Malakai had fun walking around the observation floor but he wasn't so sure about the fast elevator trip down.

We walked around downtown and then ended up at Discovery Green park which was close by. There is a great water fountain park that Malakai and Marty played in.
