Dedication

A couple of weeks ago, we had Malakai's dedication since both sets of grandparents were in town for Marty's graduation. It was very meaningful to have them here for it and to have our friend Lyz do the dedication. Malakai enjoyed looking at all the people that were looking at him. We thought that we would share what we said to him.

Malakai, we love you so much and promise to always be as curious about you as we were on September 12th. Every time I see you my heart jumps just like it did the first time I heard your heartbeat. Malakai, your name means “My messenger”. You are an Osborne, and you are a Troyer. But you are also wonderfully unique in your own way; and we are so glad you were born into our family. You are one of us. We will love you through every stage of your life whether you are successful or not, whether you are healthy or not, whether we agree with you or not, whether you like us or not. We will respect your gifts and we promise to help you find your path in life. We are so glad that we are not alone in parenting, but have had the help of grandparents, family, friends and church members. We will continue to surround you, and ourselves, with family and communities of people who strive to spread God’s love, peace, forgiveness, hope and justice in our world. With the help of the Holy Spirit, and with those who love you, together we will teach you about following the way of Jesus. We love you Kai!
