These pics were taken around 8AM Tuesday. On Monday, we had 4-6 inches of rain. In Houston, it comes down pretty quick, sending the gekko's running. Then Tuesday morn from 3-5AM we had the most horrendous thunder storm I've seen in years, and it dropped another 6+ inches on us (11 inches just several miles west of us!). The water above had already receeded significantly. In the top pic, the water was up to the visible line in the driveway, and now stands about 16 inches deep. In the second pic, it was up to the tree in our neighbors yard. At one intersection several miles from home, the water was 10 feet over the road, and submerged an unsuspecting Ambulance and Suburban around 4am. No water in our house though. But we had to wait for the water to recede before leaving. Chubs hated the storms and had to sleep between us last night as the windows shook. Kai never even woke up...
